10 December, 17:30 to 19:30
The Play house, Fish Hoek
This fun, age-appropriate session will help tweens feel confident and prepared to stay active during their period. The event is all about celebrating busy, bold, and creative tweens while talking openly about the journey of growing up, including periods and how they fit into active lives. Parents, please introduce your tween to the idea of periods before the event, so they feel comfortable and confident when we dive into the conversation. We can’t wait to have fun, learn, and grow together!
To keep the event small and cosy, we will be limiting the tickets to 30 girls excluding parents. Please book fast to avoid disappointment. Ticket sales will close once we reach capacity. Once you have completed the google form to book your tickets, please pay using Snapscan within 24 hours. Your tickets will be emailed to you once booking form is complete and payment received.
Please note: At least one adult must accompany each child (or a group of friends); this is not a drop-off event.
Child: R160 (includes period kit)

10% of ticket sales will go to Code Red to help alleviate period poverty in Masiphumelele and beyond.

The girls are welcomed into a friendly warm space and we explain what we’d like to talk about. Buy a cup of hot chocolate on the way in.
We’ll take the girls through the changes that occur before and during their first period, including symptoms like tummy or lower back cramps, hormonal shifts that may lead to pimples, and light spotting at the start, which can sometimes be missed. All very natural and normal!
Lara Jager from Code Red Initiative will lead icebreaker games to get the girls talking, laughing, and comfortable. Lara works to break the stigma surrounding menstruation, and 10% of ticket sales will go to Code Red to help alleviate period poverty in Masiphumelele and beyond.
Erika Holland, an epidemiologist, and seasoned ultra runner, will share her insights on when to push through discomfort in sports and when to listen to our bodies.
Each girl will pack her own Period-Ready Kit—for herself or a bestie!
