Updating an existing logo while keeping it authentic
Update and simplify the Duinepos logo and refresh the existing website with the new identity.
Who is Duinepos?
Duineposoffers eco-friendly self-catering accommodation in the West Coast National Park near Langebaan.
Refreshing the original logo
The original Duinepos logo was created from a drawing made by one of the architects when the cottages were built around a decade ago. Although the original logo had some lovely elements – the hand-drawn typography and the drawing of the cottage – it was overly busy.
We worked closely with creative collaborator and copywriter, Jorisna Bonthuys on this project. We simplified the logo by getting rid of the unnecessary text, thickening and cleaning up the original hand-drawn typography, and altering the colours to be more in line with the colours of Duinepos’ cottages.
We presented three options
A simple solution
The design most similar to the original logo was selected. We created a colour palette and selected a font set to support it.
We created a professional logo with a colour palette and font pairing that freshens up the Duinepos brand while retaining its legacy. The adjusted website structure improves usability, while the updated identity gives Duinepos a fresh new look.
