A new platform for the Buchu Association
Client: Buchu Association
Project lead & client management: Unfold
Design: Unfold
Website Development: Matogen Digital
The Buchu Association partnered with Unfold to refine their brand identity and create a custom WordPress website that reflects their story. Working from their existing logo, we kicked things off with a collaborative workshop to explore their aesthetic and where it could evolve. Our workshops help clients visualise possibilities in a way that feels natural and inspiring. We prepare by curating colour palettes, creating themed photo collages, and gathering design inspiration—making it easy to pinpoint what resonates. This process acts as a creative map, allowing clients to confidently guide us through their preferences and shape the direction of their brand.

Brand Identity & Design
To bring their brand to life, we developed a clear brand guide, including a fresh colour palette, font pairings, and a set of custom-crafted icons. The palette draws from the fresh greens of young buchu plants and the pink hues of their flowers, balanced with neutral tones for clarity and cohesion. These elements set the foundation for the website and marketing materials, ensuring everything feels connected and intentional.

Brochure Design for Print & Digital
We designed an A5 landscape booklet and a Z-fold brochure to align with the new brand identity. The brochure distills key information into a quick, digestible format, while the booklet offers a deeper dive into the story of buchu. Both are designed for digital and high-quality print.

Website Design & Development
We designed a website prototype in Adobe XD, which was developed into a fully functional WordPress site by our trusted partners at Matogen Digital. Taking a mobile-first approach, we focused on a clean layout for easy reading and fast loading speeds. Every image was carefully chosen to highlight the beauty of buchu and the unique landscapes of the Cape Floral Kingdom. The site is simple to navigate, with an intuitive content management system that makes it easy for the client to update their own content.
We love how this project came together—it’s a reminder that good design isn’t about complexity; it’s about making things clear, meaningful, and easy to use.
