Research for impact

Research at Stellenbosch publishes a yearly science magazine. Last year Unfold was tasked to give the magazine a fresh look and improve its digital readability. With this need in mind, Unfold created a website where readers explore articles under the university’s five key research areas. The editorial team chose the best stories to design a printed magazine at the end of 2022. The website allows for new article uploads throughout 2023, with the plan to create another print edition at the end of the year.
The cover design layers detailed line drawings created from the stories in the magazine over an organic abstract image. The intricate linework was foiled for the printed edition to add a touch of sophistication to the magazine.
